
The Orthopaedic and Spine Hospital at the central campus in Little Rock opened in June 2023 with 12 operating rooms, 24 patient rooms for overnight stays, specialty clinic examination rooms for orthopaedic trauma, orthopaedic oncology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, pain management, an advanced imaging suite, and rehabilitation therapy services. C. Lowry Barnes, M.D., leads a team of fellowship-trained surgeons and physicians who specialize in conditions affecting the bones, joints, ligaments and tendons and have expertise in all areas of musculoskeletal care.
UAMS Health has served as the Official Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine Provider for Razorback Athletics since 2021, providing daily medical care to all 19 Razorback sports programs and more than 450 student-athletes. An interdisciplinary team of highly trained surgeons and rehab specialists provides specialty care at UAMS orthopaedic and sports medicine clinics in Fayetteville and Lowell. Plans are underway to build the UAMS Health Orthopaedics & Sports Performance Center in Springdale.
