Program Overview

We’re thrilled to introduce the UAMS Chancellor’s Scholars Program. This is a groundbreaking initiative reflecting our commitment to academic excellence, service, and the future of health care in Arkansas. This program offers full tuition and fees for 40 exceptional students entering UAMS in Fall 2026. These merit-based awards cover the entire duration of your academic program, provided you maintain on-time progression as a full-time student.

Available Scholarships

The scholarships are distributed across our colleges, targeting in-demand careers:

  • College of Medicine – 15 scholarships:
    • Doctor of Medicine – 15
  • College of Health Professions – 5 scholarships:
    • Audiology (AuD) – 1
    • Speech-Language Pathology (MS) – 2
    • Dietetics (MS) – 2
  • College of Nursing – 10 scholarships:
    • Traditional BSN – 5
    • Accelerated BSN – 5
  • College of Pharmacy – 5 scholarships:
    • Doctor of Pharmacy – 5
  • College of Public Health – 5 scholarships:
    • Master of Public Health – 5

Your Commitment to Arkansas

In exchange for this investment, scholars agree to live and work in Arkansas after completing their program (and any residency or fellowship for physicians) for a period equal to the scholarship length. This shared responsibility extends the program’s impact, enhancing health and well-being in communities statewide.

Eligibility & Application

  • Who Qualifies? Arkansas residents admitted to an eligible UAMS program starting Fall 2026. Completing your undergraduate degree out-of-state won’t disqualify you.
  • Selection Process: Based on academic merit via a holistic review of your record, including performance metrics, coursework rigor, and commitment to scholarly excellence. Assessed by each college’s admissions or scholarship committee.
